Yokohama Regional Business Conference provides US-Japan business matching
Representatives from 9 North American and German Life Science companies were invited to Yokohama from October 8-10 earlier this month for the Regional Business Conference, the aim of which was to promote the city’s business environment and enable these companies to connect with major Japanese corporations from among Yokohama’s unique Life Innovation Platform network.

Connect with global Japanese corporations at YOKOHAMA GADGET FESTIVAL 2019
During the month of October, “Yokohama Gadget Festival 2019,” a new multi-stage public event to celebrate innovation will be held in Yokohama through a joint partnership with local SMEs, large corporations, and the city government. Filled with discussion panels, demo booths, and fun activities, this event presents a unique and invaluable opportunity for all attendees, including foreign visitors, to meet and network with some of the Japanese tech scene’s leading experts and innovators.
YOXO BOX – New support center opening in Yokohama to stimulate startup ecosystem
On October 31 an opening event will be held to celebrate the establishment of Yokohama’s new startup growth center—YOXO BOX. The center will be located in Kannai, one of Yokohama’s major business districts, and will offer mentoring, individual consultation with specialists in startup growth, space for exchange and business events focused on creating innovation, and a special in-house accelerator program called the “YOXO Accelerator Program.”
Yokohama’s Determination for Net Zero Carbon Emissions and SDG Advancement
The UN Climate Change Summit, SDG Summit, and other related events were held in New York surrounding the UN General Assembly in late September. At those events, Yokohama City was able to share Yokohama’s climate change countermeasures with the other participants. In addition, Yokohama City’s Representative to the Americas, Makoto Sekiyama, joined the VLR Declaration event hosted by New York City to affirm Yokohama’s strategic and determined support of the SDGs alongside other echoing cities worldwide.
