The Director of the Yokohama City Europe Office took the stage at Japan Night, held at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador to Germany on 2 March, to promote ‘GREEN×EXPO 2027‘.
Japan Night is an annual event held at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador to Germany, serving as a networking opportunity for Japanese and German travel industry professionals. It coincides with ITB Berlin, the world’s largest tourism trade fair held in Berlin, Germany.
This year’s Japan Night theme was “Nature”, attracting approximately 200 attendees, primarily from the tourism industry. The event drew considerable interest from many participants.
Vigorous PR efforts across Germany
The European Office also exhibited at the Emperor’s Birthday receptions held in February at the Consulate-General of Japan in Frankfurt and the Consulate-General of Japan in Hamburg, extensively promoting ‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’. Numerous tourism stakeholders, including local governments, travel agencies, and airlines, exhibited at each event, demonstrating the high level of interest among attendees in visiting Japan.
‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’ is an international exposition centered on environmental themes, to be held in Yokohama in 2027. By highlighting initiatives not only in flowers and greenery but also in the circular economy, carbon neutrality, and nature-harmonious approaches, it will serve as a showcase for sustainable urban development. Seventy countries and international organizations are officially participating, with an anticipated attendance of 10 million visitors.
‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’ will be one year away from its opening on 19 March. The Yokohama City European Office will continue its ongoing promotional activities to attract visitors to Yokohama.
