The 135th anniversary event of Japan-Thailand diplomatic relations 「NIPPONHAKU BANGKOK 2022」was held from September 2nd to 4th, at the Royal Paragon Hall in Siam Paragon.

As the event was held for the first time in the three years, the hall was filled with a total of about 100,000 enthusiastic participants for over 3 days.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Nashida of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, and Governor Chadchart, who won the highest votes in the history of the May Bangkok governor election, and his team.

The Japanese idol groups BALLISTIK BOYZ and PSYCHIC FEVER, representing the EXILE TRIBE had their  first time overseas performance. During the event, the idol groups’ stage attracted many participants, and you could see many fans wearing costumes and interacting with each other both inside and outside the hall, as well as visitors enjoying tasting local Japanese products in the food and beverage zone.

The exhibition was divided into themed zones: “Study in Japan“, “Job Hunting”, “Travel“, “Japan Brand”, “Subculture“, and “Food”. The Job Hunting and Study in Japan booths were packed with Thai people who intently listened to the talks. Kanto Gakuin Mutsuura Junior and Senior High School and Yokohama International Education Academy from Yokohama City exhibited there.

Many local governments exhibited in the Travel zone. Our firm conducted interviews with attendees at the event to ascertain their awareness of Yokohama.

Next year’s schedule for NIPPONHAKU BANGKOK 2023 will be held for 3 days on September 1, 2023.
