by | Mar 24, 2026

The Director of the Yokohama City European Office took to the stage at the Japan Conference during ‘MIPIM 2026’, one of the world’s largest international property fairs held in Cannes, France, to promote ‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’.

MIPIM is one of the world’s largest international property trade fairs, held every March in Cannes, France. It brings together investors, developers and local authorities from around the globe.

Yokohama City not only had a stand at the event but also took the stage at the Japan Conference alongside the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Takenaka Corporation, Mitsubishi Estate, Sumitomo Forestry and the OECD.

With decarbonization driving global innovation, participants at this conference highlighted Japan’s unique strengths, which lie in the fusion of cutting-edge technology with Japan’s traditional philosophy of ‘living in harmony with nature’. Yokohama City widely promoted its initiatives towards achieving a decarbonized and circular economy, as well as ‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’, to visitors, attracting significant interest, particularly from local authorities overseas.

‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’ is an international exposition focusing on the environment, to be held in Yokohama in 2027. By highlighting not only flowers and greenery but also initiatives relating to the circular economy, carbon neutrality and approaches to coexistence with nature, it will serve as a showcase for sustainable urban development. Seventy countries and international organizations are set to participate officially, and 10 million visitors are expected to attend.

19 March marks one year to go until ‘GREEN×EXPO 2027’, a perfect time frame to plan your visit to Yokohama and the Expo.
