On September 22, 2026, the Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to the Americas participated in the Japan-U.S. Tourism and Culinary Night at Gotham Hall in New York City, where it promoted GREEN×EXPO 2027.

The event was held as part of the Japan–USA Tourism Campaign 2026, a public-private initiative aimed at expanding two-way tourism between Japan and the United States in the year marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Organized by the Japan Tourism Agency and co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the event took place during UN General Assembly High-Level Week to showcase Japan’s tourism, food, and culture in New York City.

Showcasing GREEN×EXPO 2027 Alongside Japan’s Tourism, Food, and Culture

The program featured booths introducing tourism destinations and experiences from across Japan, as well as dishes prepared with Japanese ingredients and Japanese alcoholic beverages. A kabuki dance performance by Ichikawa Danjuro was also presented, offering guests an opportunity to experience different aspects of Japan’s tourism, food, and culture.

At the GREEN×EXPO 2027 booth, the Yokohama office worked with the Japan Association for the International Horticultural Expo 2027, Yokohama to introduce the Expo through brochures and videos. The official mascot, Tunku Tunku, also appeared at the venue, greeting guests and taking part in photo sessions to help promote GREEN×EXPO 2027.

GREEN×EXPO 2027 Highlighted in the Prime Minister’s Video Message

A video message from the Prime Minister of Japan also highlighted GREEN×EXPO 2027. The message introduced the Expo, which will open in Yokohama in March 2027, as an opportunity to showcase beautiful flowers and greenery, gardens, food and agriculture, and Japanese culture and lifestyles centered on living in harmony with nature.

The Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to the Americas will continue to use opportunities across the Americas to promote GREEN×EXPO 2027 and Yokohama in cooperation with relevant organizations.
