During the visit, arranged through an overture made by the Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to the Americas, Dr. Liu met with Mayor Fumiko Hayashi and with several local universities at their campuses, and took part in discussions on the possibility of establishing exchanges between Yokohama institutions and Stony Brook University and on potentially providing support for study abroad or startup entrepreneur programs.

It is now actively exploring comprehensive, strategic partnerships with universities in Yokohama.
