Global Sustainability Startup Pitch Event

Solutions to world-wide issues from world-wide startup companies

The Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to the Americas is excited to announce the “Global Sustainability Startup Pitch” a Japanese-language online pitch event introducing startups from all over the world on February 18th (JST), with the support of JETRO San Francisco office and Plug and Play, one of the world’s largest accelerators/VC. The participating companies are start-ups that provide innovative technologies and solutions to solve global issues such as climate change which are also interested in developing business in Japan and/or collaborating with Japanese companies. This is hosted as a follow up event to the 9th Asian Smart City Conference held on January 18th.

Enapter

Enapter designs and manufactures highly efficient hydrogen generators. The core technology is built on unique and patented Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolysis.

Their vision is to pave the way for clean energy by replacing fossil fuels with green hydrogen and making it accessible. The Plastic Flamingo

A French startup based in Manila, Philippines, with the purpose of solving the plastic pollution in the oceans which comes from Asia. The Plastic Flamingo (also known as The Plaf) collects plastic waste from condominiums, schools, universities, restaurants and hotels is taken to the company’s warehouse, where it is segregated, cleaned and dried and recycles into HDPE, PP, LDPE and flexible packaging like multi-layered plastic and laminates. Eavor

High-Tech company located in Alberta, Canada, invented a geothermal power generation technology by mitigating or eliminating many of the issues that have hindered traditional geothermal solutions. This new effective green power generation system is called Eavor-Loop™.  By taking advantage of the latest advances in drilling technology and in combination with the latest thermoelectric generation technology, they have created clean and reliable energy on a global scale.
