On September 1st, the Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to Southeast and South Asia co-sponsored with Kanagawa Prefecture, Bank of Yokohama, and Technology Promotion Association (Thailand – Japan), held a “Thai Business Matching” at Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University to support Japanese businesses in Thailand and bilateral business matching. Starting off the meeting was a seminar on the theme of “Current situation and issues of Japanese companies in Thailand”, and after that, 10 companies in Kanagawa prefecture (including 6 companies in Yokohama city) were divided into individual tables for discussions and business matchings. 32 companies from Thailand registered in advance and 58 business matchings were held in total. Participating companies were able to engage in in-depth discussions that will likely lead to future developments, such as business talks with potential partner candidates, which indicates that this “Thai Business Matching” event has laid the seeds for exciting new opportunities for both Japanese and Thai companies alike, something that the Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to Southeast and South Asia will continue to strive for.
