On November 8th, the Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to Southeast and South Asia held a seminar titled “Working and Living in Yokohama City, Japan” at the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand. The seminar, delivered to over 150 3rd and 4th-year students at the college, aimed to expand the job-seeking horizons of the students and promote international employment opportunities at companies in Yokohama City. The Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to Southeast and South Asia introduced the city’s attractions, with local staff talking about their experiences living in Yokohama. Other organizations joined in as well: the independent administrative agency Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) explained the ins and outs of working internationally in Japan, and NITTO DEED (THAILAND) CO.,LTD., a local Thai subsidiary of a Yokohama-based company, presented information from a Yokohama company’s perspective on work experience and recruitment. Finally, the students were provided information on the JOB FAIR YOKOHAMA 2023 to be held on November 14th.
In a survey conducted after the seminar, 95.3% of participants answered that the seminar content would be useful for their future careers.
