Biocom, the San Diego-based life science association, has recently launched a new series of presentations called “Explore the World of Life Sciences.” The series introduces unique international life science ecosystems, along with inside knowledge, resources, and connections that would be advantageous to US-based attendees looking to partner and expand internationally in these regions. The series is aimed at Biocom’s members but is available to the public.
The next event in the Explore the World of Life Sciences series is scheduled to be held on May 13th 2021 and will feature the City of Yokohama and One Nucleus. One Nucleus is a not-for-profit Life Sciences & Healthcare membership organization centered on the Greater London-Cambridge-East of England corridor. Interested parties can register for the event here.
Yokohama City’s presentation will provide an in-depth introduction to the city’s vibrant life science ecosystem, covering major players in the city, networking opportunities for US companies, and other unique resources in the city for life science enterprises interested in Japan. Business matching and collaboration will be major focal points, as well an deep dive into LIP Yokohama, the city’s innovation and collaboration network. The 30-minute presentation will include a Q&A session as well for any remaining questions attendees may have.
The City of Yokohama has had a close connection with Biocom for many years. In 2017, the City of Yokohama concluded a MOU with BIOCOM to promote mutual economic development through life innovation, the same year commemorating the 60th anniversary of Yokohama and San Diego’s sister city relationship. Yokohama-based life science companies participate every year in Biocom’s Global Partnering event, and Biocom is the only U.S. life science trade association with regular member presence and participation in panels and events at the annual BioJapan conference, which is held in the Pacifico Yokohama convention center.
