On May 2, 2019, the City of Yokohama will host a “Yokohama Pavilion” at TechDay New York, a large-scale startup event to be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan’s West Side neighborhood. Over 300 startups will exhibit and 20,000 are registered to attend the event. TechDay New York has been chosen as one of the top 3 tech events in NYC and has been recognized as one of NY’s top 100 events 6 years in a row.
The Yokohama Pavilion will feature exhibits by Yokohama-based startups and companies interested in expanding to the US market. In addition to the exhibits, participating companies will pitch their business ideas in front of the NY tech community in the “Japan Session” which will be jointly organized by the City of Yokohama and JETRO New York.
The City of Yokohama has been ramping up efforts to support entrepreneurs and local businesses pursue their innovative business ventures since Mayor Hayashi made the “Innovation City” declaration on January 7.
