On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Yokohama’s Port Authority and port-related parties gathered in Bangkok, Thailand to hold the “Yokohama-Kawasaki Port Seminar”. The Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to Southeast and South Asia was involved in publicizing and managing the event on the day. The seminar was a success with over 100 participants, including many local entities such as the Port Authority of Thailand, the Japanese Embassy in Thailand, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as well as many shipping companies, logistics operators, and shippers.
At the seminar, it was emphasized that Yokohama Port and Kawasaki Port, as central ports in Japan, connect Japan domestically and globally through numerous major routes and inland feeder routes. Additionally, the seminar covered an overview of the “New International Container Port Strategy Policy” and highlighted the benefits of utilizing Yokohama Port and Kawasaki Port not only for cargo destined for Japan but also for transportation routes to North America and Latin America from Thailand.
