by | May 16, 2023

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, the Yokohama Europe Office participated in the 20th Japan Day in Düsseldorf, Germany, as part of the city’s tourism and city sales activities. Blessed with fine weather, the event attracted approximately 650,000 visitors.

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) was the main organizer of the booth, which provided information on tourism in Japan. ANA, JAL, Miyagi Prefecture, and Ota Ward also exhibited. The visitors ranged from families, young people, to senior citizens, and the flow of visitors never stopped.

At the Yokohama City table, visitors showed particular interest in the tourist MAP, the Minato Mirai area, the Ramen Museum, and craft beer. When booth visitors were interviewed about their awareness of Yokohama, approximately 70% of them said they knew of the city. Some said they would like to visit Yokohama again, and some were making specific travel plans to Japan, and we further promoted Yokohama’s attractions.
